Villiers-sur-Orge is a French municipality with 4548 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Palaiseau and belongs to the canton of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois . The inhabitants are called Villiérains .

Villiers-sur-Orge lies on the Orge , a tributary of the Seine , into which the Yvette flows here. Villiers-sur-Orge is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ballainvilliers the north and west, Epinay-sur-Orge in the Northeast, Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois in the east and southeast and Longpont-sur-Orge in the south and southwest.
