Ballainvilliers is a French municipality with 4581 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France . Ballainvilliers is part of the Palaiseau arrondissement and the Longjumeau canton . The inhabitants are called Ballainvillois .

geography

The small river Rouillon flows through the village, which is about 21 kilometers southwest of Paris in the Hurepoix landscape , and flows into the Yvette a little further east . Ballainvilliers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Longjumeau in the north, Épinay-sur-Orge in the northeast, Villiers-sur-Orge in the east and southeast, Longpont-sur-Orge in the south, La Ville-du-Bois in the southwest and Saulx-les-Chartreux in the west and northwest.

Route nationale 20 runs along the western edge of the municipality .
