Saint-Germain-lès-Arpajon is a French commune with 10,707 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Essonne department of the Île-de-France region . It is located in the Arrondissement of Palaiseau and the canton of Arpajon . The inhabitants are called Germinois .
geography
Saint-Germain-lès-Arpajon lies on the Orge , a tributary of the Seine . The community is surrounded by Linas in the north, Leuville-sur-Orge in the north-east, Brétigny-sur-Orge in the east and south-east, La Norville in the south, Arpajon in the west and south-west and Ollainville in the north-west.

Previously the name of the municipality was Saint-Germain-lès-Châtres .
