The Coeur d'Essonne Agglomération is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France . The community association was founded with effect from January 1 , 2016 and comprises 21 communities . The administrative headquarters are in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois .

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2016 from the merger of the predecessor organizations

• Communauté d'agglomération du Val d'Orge and
• Communauté de communes de l'Arpajonnais ,

from which, however, 3 municipalities changed to the Communauté de communes Entre Juine et Renarde .
