Le Plessis-Pâté is a French village with 4103 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Palaiseau and the canton Ris-Orangis . The inhabitants are called Plesséiens .

Le Plessis-Pâté is located about 28 kilometers south of Paris . Le Plessis-Pâté is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois in the north, Fleury-Mérogis in the northeast, Bondoufle in the east, Vert-le-Grand in the south and southeast, Leudeville in the southwest, Brétigny-sur-Orge in the west and Saint-Michel-sur-Orge to the northwest.
The majority of the Air Force Base Base aérienne 217 Brétigny-sur-Orge is located in the municipality.
