Villemoisson-sur-Orge is a French municipality with 6996 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Palaiseau and belongs to the canton of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois . The inhabitants are called Villemoissonnais .

Villemoisson-sur-Orge lies on the Orge , a tributary of the Seine , into which the Yvette flows here. Villemoisson-sur-Orge is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Épinay-sur-Orge in the north and north-west, Savigny-sur-Orge in the north-east, Morsang-sur-Orge in the east and south-east and Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois in the south and west.
