Elisabeth Pinajeff
Elisabeth Pinajeff , born as Jelisaweta Sergejewna Pinajewa ( Russian Елизавета Сергеевна Пинаева ; * April 4 July / April 17, 1900 greg. In Yekaterinoslav ; † December 31, 1995 in Villemoisson-sur-Orge , France ), was a Russian actress .
Life
The daughter of an architect took lessons from an actor at the Russian National Theater in Kharkov and appeared in two Russian silent films. When her early wedded husband, an engineer, received an order from Germany, she followed him to Berlin.
Here she benefited from the fact that director Carl Theodor Dreyer was looking for real Russians through a newspaper advertisement for his film Die Gezeichen in 1921 . Elisabeth Pinajeff was given a leading role and appeared in German silent films several times in the 1920s. From 1931 she turned to the French film, but fell into oblivion in the course of the thirties.
She died on December 31, 1995 in Villemoisson-sur-Orge in France.
