Massy is a French city with 50,833 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region . It is divided into the two cantons of Massy-Est and Massy-Ouest .
geography
Massy is located on the Bièvre in the Hurepoix , about 15 kilometers south of the center of Paris . The neighboring municipalities are Verrières-le-Buisson in the north, Antony in the northeast, Wissous in the east, Chilly-Mazarin in the southeast, Champlan in the south, Palaiseau in the southwest and Igny in the west.
