Henry Gray, 10th Earl of Kent
Henry Gray, 10th Earl of Kent ( November 24, 1594 - May 28, 1651 ) was an English nobleman .
Gray was the eldest son of Anthony Gray, 9th Earl of Kent , and Magdalene Purefoy.
His first marriage was to Maria Courteen, a daughter of Sir William Courteen , and his second marriage to Annabel Benn , a daughter of Sir Anthony Benn . The couple had two children:
- Anthony Gray, 11th Earl of Kent (1645–1702)
- Elizabeth Gray († 1714).
Gray was named Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire by the Long Parliament in 1646 ; he held this office until his death. He was also a member of the governing body of Parliament, a forerunner of a government, in his last years.
In 1643, when his father died, Gray inherited the latter's title. These passed on to his son when he died.
