Henry Hamilton
Henry Hamilton (* 1734 , † 29. September 1796 ) was a British general and British Governor Lieutenant of Canada during the American Revolutionary War . After he was captured by the Americans, his treatment as a war criminal became a problem between the warring parties.
Hamilton was known as the "hair-buyer general" on suspicion of paying Indians to scalp American settlers . The suspicion that he was responsible for paying the premiums to Skalps was one of the reasons for his conviction as a war criminal.
After his release from prison he was successively governor of Bermuda and Dominica .
