Henry Schaper

Henry August Schaper (born February 26, 1875 in Hamburg ; † July 23, 1937 ) was a Hamburg politician of the DDP and a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

Henry Schaper first attended the learned school of the Johanneum and later the secondary school on St. Pauli . He completed a commercial apprenticeship from 1892 to 1894 and worked as a clerk until 1897. In 1897/98 he completed his military service with the infantry regiment in Rostock. He then worked as a bank clerk in Berlin from 1898 to 1901 and in Hamburg from 1901 to 1906. He then worked for the sales clerk from 1858 (later the commercial association from 1858 ). During the First World War he was called up as a deputy officer from 1914 to 1918.

During the Weimar Republic he sat continuously from 1919 to 1933 for the DDP and later for the German State Party (DStP) in the Hamburg Parliament . He had been a member of the DDP state executive for Hamburg since the late 1920s. He was also a member of the board of the trade union federation of employees (GdA) .
