Henry Wingfield

Sir Henry Wingfield of Orford , (* around 1440; † 1493 ), was an English knight .

Life

Sir Henry was a younger son of Sir Robert Wingfield of Letheringham and Elizabeth Goushill and a brother of Sir John Wingfield of Letheringham.

He fought during the Wars of the Roses for the House of York and Edward IV. On May 4, 1471 at the Battle of Tewkesbury and received on site by King Edward IV. The accolade as a Knight Bachelor . Sir Henry was appointed Governor of Orford Castle and was one of the invited guests at the coronation of Richard III. and Queen Anne Neville .

Sir Henry died in 1493/94.

Marriage and offspring

Sir Henry was married to 1) Alice Seckford and 2) Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Robert Rokes. The following descendants came from the second marriage:
