Henryk Skarżyński (born January 3, 1954 in Rosochate Kościelne ) is a Polish doctor, ENT doctor , audiologist and phoniatrist . He is also a founder and director of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing and the World Hearing Center in Kajetany . From 2011 regional advisor on ear, nose and throat medicine.

biography

In 1992 he was the first in Poland to perform the cochlear implant surgery to restore the hearing of a deaf person, which gave rise to the regular program of healing deafness [source necessary]. On July 12, 2012, he was the first in the world to have the operation of implanting the cochlear implant in partial deafness (PDT, from English partial daefness treatment) on adults and then with the method PDCI (from English: partial deafness cochlear implantation) established by him carried out on a child in the world for the first time in 2004, and has enabled these patients to significantly improve their quality of life [source necessary]. He is the author and co-author of over 1000 scientific papers (including approx. 100 from the ISI Master Journal List and approx. 150 which are indexed by Medline) and approx. 2000 scientific speeches, supervisor of 20 doctoral theses and habilitation theses and a member of the scientific World associations in this field of medicine, which concerns ear, nose and throat medicine, audiology, phoniatry and rehabilitation.
