Hensel-Visit GmbH & Co. KG develops and sells flash and lighting technology for photographers and the industrial sector. The company also offers all kinds of accessories for outdoor and studio photography. The headquarters are in Würzburg , Bavaria. The managing directors are Guido Puttkammer and Dirk Liesegang.

Company history

The company was founded on February 4, 1963 by the married couple Wolfgang and Ingrid Hensel. The market entry began with the development and manufacture of halogen lights and flash units , which were sold to professional photo studios in Germany. In the early 1970s, Hensel-Visit GmbH & Co.KG became a sales partner of Bowens International Ltd. After several years of cooperation, Hensel-Visit GmbH & Co.KG developed and produced its own flash units . In 1968 the company started sales activities in Europe and Asia. In 1970 the Hensel front projection was introduced. In the same year export to the USA began .

In 1982 the first Hensel flash units were developed. It led to the presentation of the “Miniflash” series at photokina in 1984 , which, however, was supplemented two years later (1988) by the well-known “EXPERT” series. In the following year, the portfolio of Hensel-Visit GmbH & Co.KG was expanded with flash generators and other accessories for professional photography . Subsequently, new markets gradually opened up in China and Indonesia . In addition, seminars were held in Europe and Asia . In 1993, Wolfgang Hensel left the company after 30 years and retired. In June 2019, the company filed for bankruptcy at the local court in Würzburg.

Products

In 1995 the "PORTY 1200" - one of the first battery-operated flash generators - was presented. The “TRIA AS” generator with 3-mode asymmetry technology was presented at photokina the following year. In 2001 we moved into a new headquarters in Würzburg. In 2003 the radio triggering and remote control "Strobe Wizard" was presented: small and light and still sold by Hensel-Visit to this day. In 2005 the newly developed ring flashes RF 1200P-XS and 3000-XS came onto the market, in 2008 the Porty L 1200, the world's first mobile battery generator. In 2010 Hensel-Visit presented the entry-level device Integra Mini 300, in 2012 the Nova DL flash generators and the daylight lamp C-Light D. In 2013, the Power Max L expanded the portfolio, a mobile power supply with Li batteries for in-house devices. In 2015 the company celebrated the Porty's 20th anniversary. The device is now synonymous worldwide with this type of device. Over the years, the term "Porty-Light" has also established itself, which is device-independent on everyone's lips and stands for "lightning against the sun". In 2016, Hensel developed the world's fastest compact flash unit - the Cito 500. With flash times of up to 1 / 100,000 s and a flash rate of 40 flashes / s, rapid movements in images can be frozen and displayed with precision. In 2017 the company Hensel-Visit received the highest distinction of the Plus X Awards in the product groups "Innovation, High Quality, Design, Ease of Use and Functionality".
