action

15-year-old Ceylan Olcay lives with her mother and little brother in poor conditions. Since her mother cannot work due to her illness, Ceylan provides for the family's support by working as a singer in a bar.

When the bar owner refused to interview a reporter, he published an article about Ceylan. It is titled as "swamp rose - an angel by day, a devil by night". After the article, which portrays Ceylan and her workplace in a bad light, the bar is closed. Celil, the father of Ceylan's classmate Metin, reads the article about Ceylan in the newspaper and demands that the school principal be kicked out of the school. The principal refuses to kick Ceylan out of school, but she is so offended that she leaves school voluntarily. Due to the new situation, Ceylan's mother takes a cleaning job despite illness.

Meanwhile, Tahsin, a blind violinist and Ceylan's neighbor, introduces her to a record producer. Tahsin explains to her that the article that made her lose her job at the same time made her famous. Ceylan signs a record deal and now sings songs that Tahsin has composed.

At work, Nuran passes out and is hospitalized. The doctor explains to Ceylan that her mother has a rare brain disease and urgently needs an operation. However, there is only one surgeon in the country who can perform this operation: Orhan Olsoy, Ceylan's father. Years ago he had an affair with his secretary. When his wife caught him doing it, she left him. Since that day, Orhan has been plagued by guilt and has stopped practicing. He leads a life as a homeless drunkard and earns the money for schnapps as a car washer.

The search for her father leads Ceylan to his then lover. She actually saw her father recently and reveals his whereabouts to Ceylan. In a kind of cave behind a mosque, Ceylan finds her father surrounded by beer bottles. In tears she asks him to help her mother. But her father tells her that he no longer feels able to do so. Ceylan runs away in despair. In order not to disappoint his family a second time, Orhan finds his way back to life and works hard to carry out the operation. When the day of surgery came, Ceylan's mother still doesn't know who the doctor is who will operate on her. Meanwhile, the reporter Nazim shows up and asks Ceylan to write about her life. Her life story is a kind of novel for the people, which is followed with tension.

After a successful operation, Ceylan has two surprises for her mother. On the one hand, she bought the house where the family once lived and, on the other hand, Orhan is back. Nuran forgives her husband and the family is reunited. When Nuran and Orhan are driving, Orhan sees an oncoming truck too late and has to evade. He loses control of the car and hits a tree. Nuran and Orhan are dead immediately. Ceylan, who is now back at school, learns the news from her principal. After her parents' funeral, Ceylan decides to drop out of school to take care of Ahmet. After the death of her parents, Ceylan no longer wants to live in the big house.

She moves back to her old quarter with her brother. Tahsin, who meanwhile tries to express his feelings for Ceylan in a song, hears that she has moved back into her old house. When the two go for a walk, Tahsin gives the grieving Ceylan courage and offers her her old job as a singer. Due to Ceylan's popularity, the bar has reopened and is now more of a restaurant frequented by families. Then Tahsin reveals to her that there is someone who loves her with all their hearts and even writes songs about her. He hands her his newly written song, which Ceylan reads out loud. The film ends when Ceylan Tahsin's new song "Hep Ezildim" sings in the reopened bar.
