Heptene

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The heptenes are a group of substances in chemistry and belong to the alkenes . It consists of several isomeric compounds with the empirical formula C 7 H 14 . Heptenes have a double bond between two carbon atoms . This can be in three different positions because the other three positions are only reflections. Therefore, three linear isomers can be distinguished:

Heptenes are highly flammable and toxic.

synthesis

Heptenes are produced by the Dimersol-X process .

use

Heptenes are converted to octyl alcohol through the oxo or hydroformylation process , which is used as a plasticizer to make polyvinyl chloride .
