Octene

The octenes are a group of substances in chemistry and belong to the alkenes . It consists of several isomeric compounds with the empirical formula C ₈ H ₁₆ . Octenes have a double bond between two carbon atoms . This can be in four different positions; Therefore, four linear, i.e. straight-chain, isomers can be distinguished:

• 1-octene
• 2-octene
• 3-octene
• 4-octene

Octenes be the oxo or hydroformylation process in nonyl converted containing as plasticizer for the production of polyvinyl chloride is used.
