Nonene

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nonenes are a group of substances in chemistry and belong to the alkenes . It consists of several isomeric compounds with the empirical formula C 9 H 18 . Nonenes have a double bond between two carbon atoms . This can be in four different positions; Therefore, four linear, i.e. straight-chain, isomers can be distinguished:

The linear representatives are:

Occurrence

1-, 2-, and 4-nouns are found in cigarette smoke .

Extraction and presentation

Nonenes can be obtained by polymerizing a C 3 petroleum stream containing 40-60% propene in the presence of a phosphoric acid catalyst.
