Heralt Schöne (born February 5, 1963 in Cologne ) is a German engineering scientist . He is professor for supply and disposal at the University of Neubrandenburg .

Life

The son of Armin and Monika Schöne, geb. Herbold, graduated from the Ratsgymnasium Osnabrück after twelve years . From 1981 to 1987 he studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig . From 1988 to 1992 he worked as a project engineer and since 1991 project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics in Dortmund. In 1992 Schöne did his doctorate at the University of Dortmund , Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, with the subject "Optimization of household waste collection with body change systems through combined location and route planning" as a Dr.-Ing. , Doctoral supervisors were Reinhardt Jünemann and Erich Bahke .

From 1993 to 1997 Schöne worked in industry and as a consultant, and has been back in science since mid-1997. Until 2002 he worked as a university lecturer for environmental protection at the Institute for Process Engineering and Environmental Technology at TU Dresden . In September 2002 he followed the call as professor for supply and disposal at the University of Neubrandenburg. The dedication was extended in 2007 to include plant and automation technology . His work and research focus is on anaerobic wastewater and waste treatment ( biogas technology ) for the food industry and agriculture .

Since 2010 he has maintained close contacts with research institutions and universities in South America , especially Brazil and Chile ; This resulted in cooperation agreements between the University of Neubrandenburg and the University of Blumenau, Brazil (FURB), the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Florianopolis and the Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia in São Paulo as well as the participation of the University of Neubrandenburg in the Brazilian scholarship program Sciencia Sem Fronteiras. In 2012 he participated in the founding of an institute for biogas technology at the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. Schöne has been Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences since 2018.

Schöne is married and has 4 children.

  • a method for the cost-effective long-term storage of biogas microorganism cultures while largely maintaining their effectiveness
  • Mineral filter for separating formaldehyde from the engine exhaust gases from biogas engines
  • High-performance reactor for the monofermentation of pig manure for operations in southern Brazil, which works with a significantly smaller size than usual due to biomass retention
  • Plant concept for the fermentation of vinasse and other residues for the Brazilian sugar industry.

One of the current research focuses is the production of transportable manure from digestate.
