The “Zum Löwen” hostel is a currently closed guest house in a historic half-timbered building in Seelbach- Schönberg in the Black Forest .

According to the current state of research, the house was first mentioned in a document in 1231. According to its own information, it is one of the oldest inns in Germany, although this attribute is used by several establishments (in particular Zum Roten Bären in Freiburg im Breisgau and Zum Riesen in Miltenberg ) due to different definitions .

The listed building is a half-timbered building under a longitudinal gable in the immediate vicinity of the Hohengeroldseck castle ruins .
