Herbert Baack

Herbert Baack (born February 3, 1921 in Witten ; † July 5, 2006 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending elementary school, Baack, who was of Protestant faith, trained as a lathe operator and then worked in this profession. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier .

After the end of the war, Baack was again active in the profession he had learned. He became an industrial foreman in 1955 and was later employed as head foreman at the Korfmann machine factory in Witten.

Party and MP

Baack had been a member of the SPD since 1948. From 1952 to 1975 he was a council member of the city of Witten. He was a member of the German Bundestag from the Bundestag election from 1969 to 1983. From October 27, 1982, he was Deputy Chairman of the Finance Committee. In parliament he represented the constituency of Bochum - Witten .
