Herbert Albert Bailey (born November 7, 1894 in Amble , † 1st quarter 1955 in North Durham ) was an English football player .

Career

Bailey came from in May 1922 Amble FC for AFC Ashington . First called up in the club's reserve team as a defender, he made his debut on December 23, 1922 in the first team in the Third Division North , the home game of the seven-position team against AFC Barrow ended in a 2-6 defeat. In the course of the game the regular left-back Harry Featherstone was pulled back and Bailey took over his position in the runner-up, but this had no noticeable effect on the course of the game. Bailey came in March 1923, on Good Friday , for his second and last appearance in the Football League, when the team lost 2-0 at Lincoln City with two goals from amateur player and league debutant Fred Panther .
