Herbert Fritze (born October 21, 1905 ; † unknown) was a German football player .

The trained center forward did not get beyond a reserve role in his six years at Hertha BSC . All the more surprising that he played all games in the finals for the German championship in 1929 and scored two goals. In the final, he received from trainer Richard Girulatis not to attack the order, but to limit himself to defensive tasks and the guarding of Ludwig Leinberger from SpVgg Fürth . Even if Leinberger didn't score , the Berlin team went off the field as a final loser for the fourth time in a row.

Fritze then only had a marginal share in the two championship titles won in 1930 and 1931 .
