Herbert Hriberschek Ágústsson

Herbert Hriberschek Ágústsson (born August 8, 1926 in Mürzzuschlag , Austria ; † June 20, 2017 in Garðabær , Iceland ) was an Icelandic composer and horn player with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra .

After studying in Graz with Franz Mixa and Arthur Michl , which he finished in 1944, he played horn with the Graz Symphony Orchestra for seven years.

In 1952, Ágústsson moved to Iceland . There he played first horn with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra until 1995.

He created several works, including Concerto Breve (1965) and Athvarf (1974). For his own instrument he composed the Concerto for Horn and Orchestra in 1965 .

Ágústsson was married and had two children.
