Herbert Kaphengst

Herbert Kaphengst (born July 22, 1898 in Nipperwiese , Greifenhagen district ; † unknown) is a German CDU politician and was a member of the state parliament in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania after the war .

Herbert Kaphengst attended elementary school, learned the hairdressing trade from 1913 to 1915 and became a postal worker in Schwerin . After participating in the First World War, Kaphengst returned to the postal service and was made civil servant in 1929. In April 1938 he was seconded to the Oberpostdirektion. Kaphengst had been a member of the CDU since August 1945 . He was a member of the local executive committee and was elected to the city council and the state parliament in 1946. As a member of the works union management in the Schwerin Post Office Directorate, Kaphengst was targeted by the Ministry for State Security in the 1950s.
