Herbert Marwitz (archaeologist)

Herbert Marwitz (born July 15, 1915 in Berlin ; † January 31, 2000 ) was a German classical archaeologist .

Life

Marwitz received his doctorate from the University of Erlangen in 1949 . He was in Munich a. a. worked as an assistant at the Archaeological Institute of the University of Munich and published until the 1980s on various topics, including Greek vase painting. Marwitz was a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute .
