Herbert Oberhofer

Herbert Oberhofer is a German mountaineer .

Life

From 1966 Herbert Oberhofer took part in several expeditions in the Andes , the Karakoram and the Himalayas , including important first ascents and first ascents. He achieved his first major successes during the Andes expedition of the Academic Alpine Club Munich (AAVM) in 1966.

  • Jatunhuma 6141 m ( Cordillera Vilcanota , Andes ), 1966 first ascent of the south and middle peaks as part of a complete south-north traverse of all three peaks of Jatunhuma, Andean expedition of the Academic Alpine Association Munich 1966 (AAVM) Expedition participants: Arnulf Rother, Gundolf Engelmann, Uwe Kerner, Hans Albert Mayer, Michael Schneider, Karl Winkler and Herbert Oberhofer. During the expedition, further ascents will be made and a. in the Ausangatemassiv (6336 m).
  • Shispare 7611 m ( Karakorum , Pakistan), first ascent on July 21, 1974 together with Leszek Cichy , Marek Grochowski, Jan Holnicki-Szulc, Andrzej Mlynarczyk, Jacek Poreba and Hubert Bleicher (Polish-German Academic Expedition 1974).
  • Batura Sar 7795 m (Karakoram, Pakistan), first ascent on June 30, 1976 together with Hubert Bleicher. (Göppingen Himalaya-Karakoram Expedition 1976)
