Herbert Petersson, 1917

John Kristian Herbert Petersson (born May 21, 1881 in Ålem , Mönsterås municipality , † May 13, 1927 in Lund ) was a Swedish linguist .

Life

Herbert Petersson studied at Lund University and received his doctorate in 1912. As early as 1911 he was a lecturer in Indo-European language research and in 1923 he became a professor in Lund. He published his numerous research on the history of words mainly as essays. His research focus was the Indo-European etymology .
