Herbert Schernus

Herbert Schernus (born March 9, 1927 in Wießen, Heydekrug district ; today: Vyžiai , Lithuania ; † March 15, 1994 in Nideggen ) was the second chief conductor of the WDR Radio Choir in Cologne from 1962 to 1989 .

During his active time there were numerous "world premieres, which nationally and internationally represented and strengthened the importance of West German Radio and the reputation of the Cologne Radio Choir" and recordings of contemporary and classical music.
