Herbert Stohs

Herbert Stohs (born September 25, 1913 in Dornbirn ; † January 9, 1997 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and community official. From 1962 to 1975 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

After elementary school, Stohs attended four classes at a grammar school and then learned to be a weaver. He initially worked in the profession he had learned and was then employed as a health insurance officer. In 1938 he was dismissed from service after the National Socialists came to power. He was also banned from staying in his hometown of Dornbirn.

After the Second World War , Stohs worked as a slaughterhouse administrator and market commissioner for the city of Dornbirn. Stohs worked as deputy regional chairman in the ÖAAB Vorarlberg and from 1964 was deputy chairman of the union of community employees . He was also active as President of the International Christian Trade Unionists for Community Employees in Europe and represented the ÖVP in the Vorarlberg state parliament between 1959 and 1962 . He was then from December 14, 1962 to November 4, 1975 a member of the National Council.
