Herbert Wesley Cummings (* 13. July 1873 in West Chillisquaque , Pennsylvania ; † 4. March 1956 in Sunbury , Pennsylvania) was an American politician of the Democratic Party and a deputy in the United States House of Representatives .

After studying law, Cummings worked from 1897 as a lawyer in Sunbury. In 1901 and from 1904 to 1908 he was a District Attorney in Northumberland County . In 1911 he was elected judge at the Court of Common Pleas of that county, where he served as presiding judge for ten years.

As a member of the Democratic Party, he was elected to the 68th Congress of the United States (1923-1925), but failed in 1924 when he was re-elected to the 69th Congress. He then worked several times until his death alternately as a lawyer and elected judge in Northumberland County.
