Heribert Hutter

Heribert Hutter (born February 21, 1926 in Vienna ; † November 19, 2012 there ) was an Austrian art historian .

Hutter studied art history and classical archeology at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1959. He worked at the Albertina graphic collection and later for many years at the picture gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, of which he became director.

He was married to the art historian Irmgard Hutter .
