Heribert Juergens

Franz Heribert Jürgens (born July 3, 1949 in Bonn ) is a German pediatrician, oncologist and cancer researcher. His scientific focus was sarcomas in children and adolescents, bone tumors and Ewing's sarcoma. Heribert Jürgens has been retired since March 1st, 2015.

Academic and professional career

Jürgens received his doctorate in 1975 from the University of Düsseldorf , followed by his habilitation there in 1982. The following year he received the license to teach. In 1986 he was appointed professor on a temporary basis in Düsseldorf and in 1989 he was appointed associate professor. In 1991 he switched to a C4 professorship at the University of Münster .
