Herring milk

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Herring milk is the semen from male herring caught before spawning. It is traditionally (and in the food industry) used in fish dishes for making sauces and marinades, but can also be steamed or fried for small dishes.

Herring milk used to be sold in pharmacies as a remedy for consumption , hoarseness and coughs.

There is a tradition of giving cows herring milk at midnight at Christmas so that they can give plenty of milk for the next year.

In addition, the cells of herring milk are suitable for the chemical analysis of cell nuclei because they contain little cytoplasm .
