Hermann Stöhr House
The Evangelical Community Center Hermann-Stöhr-Haus is located in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf , Westend district , at Angerburger Allee 56.
history
In 1967 a large housing estate with over 2000 apartments was built on a piece of land between Scholzplatz, Glockenturmstraße, Heerstraße and Angerburger Allee, which is called the "Green Triangle". A parish base was to be built for church supplies. In March 1972 the parish council applied for the establishment of a new parish, which became independent on July 1, 1973 as the Evangelical parish "Green Triangle on Heerstraße". Your community center was built according to plans by Reinald Neumann and Peter Lehrercke and inaugurated on December 14, 1975. In 1985, the community named its community center “Hermann Stöhr House” after the evangelical pacifist and martyr Hermann Stöhr . In 2000 it merged with the Friedensgemeinde .

The five-storey building complex is located on a hillside. The masonry construction is faced with light red bricks. The facade is designed by alternating cubic and semicircular parts of the building . The windows are arranged like a ribbon. The youth rooms, a caretaker's apartment and rooms for child labor are in the basement . On the high ground floor there is a small chapel , only lit by a skylight , which is no longer used for church services, and a church service room , as well as play and craft rooms. Apartments are located on the upper floor.
