Hermann Corsten

Hermann Corsten (born July 18, 1889 in Geilenkirchen , † July 23, 1968 in Cologne ) was a German librarian .

Life

From 1912 to 1921 he studied mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering at the TH Aachen (1922 graduate engineer ). From 1925 to 1927 he studied economics and finance at the University of Cologne (1927 with the promotion for pol rer Dr... ). After graduating in Cologne began in 1927 in the University Library Bonn , the volunteer for the higher library service. The following year he passed his specialist examination and went to the TH Berlin as a librarian for a year . In 1929 he moved to the Prussian State Library in Berlin. From 1933 to 1954 he was director of the University and City Library in Cologne .
