Hermann Doergens
Hermann Doergens (* 1832 in Elberfeld ; † 1879 ) was a German historian .
Life
The son of a house painter in Elberfeld born, he put 1853 his Abitur at the high school in his hometown , and then studied philology. In 1861 he completed his habilitation with the book Allusions to a History and Assessment of the Doctrine of Universals , published in Heidelberg . From 1868 he was teaching at the university there in Heidelberg. Several historical works by him appeared in Leipzig in the middle and end of the 19th century and he could be found as an author in the Bunsen library.
