Hermann Eppers

Hermann Helmut Georg Eppers (* 7. December 1965 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German CDU - politician . From 1994 to 2008 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After completing secondary school, Eppers trained as a freight forwarder in Braunschweig . After completing his basic military service, Hermann Eppers was a driver in his parents' trucking company for a year. After graduating from high school, he took on a leading position in his father's medium-sized company. Since 1998 he has been a co-partner of Eppers Logistik GmbH and since 2000 managing partner of e.trans GmbH .

Hermann Eppers has been a member of the CDU since 1984 and has been a board member of the party since 1989. From 1996 to 1998 he was chairman of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU Salzgitter . From 1998 to 2006 he was deputy chairman of the CDU regional association in Braunschweig and district chairman of the CDU Salzgitter.

Hermann Eppers was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1994 to 2008. There he was chairman of the committee for economy and transport. From 1991 to 2001 he was a member of the local council of Salzgitter-Nordost. From 2001 to 2011 he was mayor and councilor of the city of Salzgitter. Hermann Eppers has not held any public offices since 2011. In April 2015 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by Federal President Joachim Gauck .
