Hermann Fehringer

Hermann Fehringer (born December 8, 1962 in Amstetten , Lower Austria) is a former Austrian pole vaulter whose Austrian records in the hall and outdoors with 5.77 m each, which he set in 1991, are still valid today (as of August 2014) .

At the Olympic Games in 1988 Fehringer took 13th place with 5.40 m. At the European Indoor Championships in 1990 he won a bronze medal with 5.70 m. In the summer he won bronze again at the European Championships in 1990 with 5.75 m .

The next year he finished fifth at the 1991 World Indoor Championships with 5.70 m. At the World Championships in 1991 he reached seventh place with 5.60 m.

From 1982 to 1996 Fehringer was Austrian national champion eleven times . There are also six hall titles. In his active days he weighed 81 kg and was 1.81 m tall.
