Hermann Gauss (philosopher)
Hermann Gauss (born May 4, 1902 in Liestal , † June 29, 1966 in Neuchâtel ) was a Swiss philosopher .
Life
Hermann Gauss was born as the son of pastor Karl Gauss . He studied philosophy at the University of Basel and received his doctorate in 1928. In 1929 he received his habilitation there. In 1947 Gauss was appointed associate professor at the University of Basel. From 1949 he was a full professor of philosophy at the University of Bern .
