Max Hermann Golle (* 1934 in Beierfeld ) is a German engineer for mechanical engineering and aircraft technology who, among other things, developed a low-emission form of the opposed piston engine .

Life

After training as a machine fitter in 1950, Golle graduated from high school and studied mechanical engineering and aircraft technology at the TH Dresden until 1960 . After working as a test engineer at VEB Flugzeugwerk Dresden in 1961 and 1962 , he began working at the Institute for Lightweight Construction, where he headed the fatigue strength department from 1975 to 1980. In 1972 he received his doctorate in engineering. at the TH Magdeburg on problems of material fatigue .

In 1980 Golle moved to the Technical University of Dresden and began developing injection pumps as a project manager . From 1964 to 1972 he worked as a freelance worker at L'Orange Ein Injektgeräte KG in Dresden . From 1985 to 1987 he worked in the VEB Barkas works in what was then Karl-Marx-Stadt ( Chemnitz ) to work on the GDR project for passenger car diesel engines / distributor pumps. He left the project because no car diesel engine was implemented for Wartburg and Trabant .

Work on the opposed piston engine began after the technical research office was founded in 1987, which was converted into Golle Motor GmbH in 1990. After the fall of the Wall, industrial orders for hydraulic pumps and injection technology were accepted. The focus was on the development of our own opposed piston engine, the Golle opposed piston engine , until it was sold in 2014 to a Saxon mechanical engineering company that manufactures engines for combined heat and power plants.
