Hermann Hövel (* probably December 27, 1644 in Neheim ; † July 1, 1724 ( burial ) in Arnsberg ) was mayor of Arnsberg in the years 1680, 1682–1683, 1686–1687, 1692, 1697–1703 and 1706.

Hermann Hoevel has before the age of 14 in Werl the Offizialat served. He moved to Neheim in 1658 when he had finished his practice in Werl (according to an Oelinghauser certificate from 1672) and became a clerk in the Oelinghausen monastery . He later rose there to the position of director of economics. He served the Oelinghausen monastery until 1669.

On October 5, 1673 he married Anna Maria Menge, widowed Graes, with whom he had seven children.

Hermann Hövel was electoral judge in Neheim. In this role, he not only led processes, but also had administrative oversight. The frequent re-election of Hermann Hövel as mayor indicates special merits.
