Hermann Koenen

Hermann Koenen (born September 13, 1922 in Rüstringen ; † January 3, 1978 in Bremen ) was a German politician of the SPD Bremen .

The trained locksmith lived in Bremen since 1945 and was long-term chairman of the works council of the Bremen plant of Daimler-Benz AG. As an SPD politician, he was a member of the Bremen citizenship from 1967 to 1975 . There he was a member of the Petitions Committee since it was founded in 1969.

A new road built after the expansion of the Mercedes plant, called “Ostrandstraße” during the planning phase, was named after him in June 1982 as “Hermann-Koenen-Straße”.
