Hermann Lindemann (lawyer)

Hermann Lindemann (born July 8, 1880 in Osterburg ; † August 9, 1952 ) was a German lawyer and local politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

Lindemann received a legal education and began his professional career in the Flatow district . From 1914 he took part in the First World War as a soldier , was wounded and then deployed to the German military administration in occupied southern Lithuania . Until the ratification of the Versailles Treaty worked at the district court of Vandsburg . From 1919 to 1924 he worked as a judge at the Bassum District Court . In 1924 he was appointed regional court director at the regional court in Verden , as its president from 1938 to 1945.

Lindemann was chairman of the Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten in Verden (Aller) . After 1933 he joined the NSDAP. He was a member of the SA and held the rank of Sturmbannführer. From 1942 to 1945 he also served as mayor of the city of Verden.

Due to his political activities as mayor, Lindemann was not accepted into the judicial service in 1945. At the instigation of the British Military Government , however, he was appointed executive president of the district court from 1945 to 1946.

His brother was Colonel General Georg Lindemann . Hermann Lindemann's grave is in the Verden cathedral cemetery.
