Hermann Nattkämper

Hermann Nattkämper (born October 4, 1911 in Gladbeck ; † April 2, 2005 there ) was a German football player and two German champions with FC Schalke 04 .

Career

At the age of 14, the trained middle runner became a member of the Preußen Gladbeck Association in 1925 . When the club host criticized him for missing a penalty , he left the club and switched to FC Schalke 04 in 1930. There he became German champions in 1934 and 1935 .

In 1936, after 74 games and 27 goals, he left FC Schalke 04 and from then on worked as city administrator and in his parents' beverage wholesaler. During the Second World War he was captured by the Soviets and played there in a Danzig team.

Hermann Nattkämper was the last surviving member of the legendary “ Schalke Kreisel ”, which also included Ernst Kuzorra and Fritz Szepan .
