Hermann Ohnesorge (born March 16, 1887 in Osnabrück ; † February 2, 1967 there ) was a German gymnastics teacher who is considered the founder of modern children's gymnastics.

Before the First World War, Ohnesorge trained as a gymnastics teacher. Then he was a teacher at the Hakenstrasse community school in Osnabrück. There he brought gymnastic exercises into normal lessons by having the students do gymnastics in the middle of each school lesson. At MTV Osnabrück he was a gymnastics and squad leader and built up a new department for children's gymnastics there. This will also be a focus of his further scientific research.

From 1927 to 1935 he was director of the German Gymnastics School in Berlin . Subsequently, he was Reich Children's Gymnastics Officer during the Nazi dictatorship .

After the Second World War, from 1947 to 1956, Ohnesorge was one of the six leading teachers at the German Sport University in Cologne.

For his services to sport in Lower Saxony , he was accepted into the Lower Saxony Sports Honor Gallery of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History in 2002. The Ohnesorgestraße in Osnabrück is named after him.
