Hermann Pius Siller

Hermann Pius Siller (born March 3, 1929 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Hermann Pius Siller studied Roman Catholic theology, philosophy, folklore and art history at the universities of Tübingen and Innsbruck. In 1963 he received his doctorate with a dissertation supervised by Karl Rahner on the incomprehensibility of God in Thomas Aquinas . In 1972 Siller became a lecturer and in 1973 professor for religious education at the Weingarten University of Education. In 1977 he became a full professor for Catholic theology ( practical theology and religious education ) at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . Here he was one of the founders of "Theologie Interkulturell" and became its first director. In 1994 Siller retired.

Honors

A commemorative publication was dedicated to him, “the practitioner of theological theory of action”, on his 65th birthday, as well as on his 75th birthday.
