Hermann Proske

Hermann Proske (born October 15, 1928 in Meppen ; † June 15, 2007 ibid) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

After attending primary school in Meppen , Hermann Proske trained as an electrician. After the journeyman's examination, he passed the master craftsman examination in 1961. Afterwards he worked at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Elektrizitätswerke , later in the Osnabrück operations administration Nike, and finally he worked as a consultant and inspection manager in the Meppen operations group.

Hermann Proske joined the SPD in October 1946; he became a member of the supervisory board of Co op Emsland and a member of the city council of Meppen. In the years 1964–1977 he worked as a member of the district assembly, and from 1972–1977 he took over the chairmanship of the district assembly of the SPD in the district of Meppen. From 1977 he worked as a member of the district assembly in the district of Emsland and chairman of the district assembly of the SPD. From June 21, 1974 to June 20, 1986 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (8th to 10th electoral term).

He was married and had three children. At the end of March 2015, the previous Wilhelm-Sagemüller- Strasse in Meppen was named after Proske. The previous decision of the city council was unanimous.
