Hermann Rind

Hermann Rind (born January 5, 1939 in Schweinfurt ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

Life

After attending a humanistic grammar school and a commercial school, Hermann Rind completed vocational training as an industrial clerk . Then he was initially active in this profession; later he passed the examination as a balance sheet accountant as well as a tax agent and tax advisor , after which he took over his father's tax advisory office in 1968. Rind continues this profession to this day.

Rind joined the FDP in 1965 and was a member of the district executive committee in Schweinfurt from 1967. From 1972 to 1979 he chaired it. From 1968 he was a member of the Lower Franconia district board , where he became deputy chairman in 1972 and finally chairman in 1975; he held this position until 1995. Since then he has been honorary chairman of the Lower Franconia District Association. In 1976 he also moved up to the Bavarian State Executive Committee , where he held the position of deputy chairman from 1979 to 1995. He was also a member of the FDP federal executive committee between 1986 and 1990 .

Between 1974 and 1982 Rind was a member of the Lower Franconia District Assembly. From 1987 to 1994 he exercised his mandate in the German Bundestag ; he was twice elected to parliament via the Bavarian state list , where he was one of four deputies to parliamentary group leader Hermann Otto Solms and a full member of the finance committee of the German Bundestag. From 1994 to 1995 Rind was chairman of the finance committee of the German Bundestag.

Rind remained politically active even after leaving the Bundestag and was chairman of the Federal Expert Committee on Finances and Taxes until 2010. In this function, Rind played a key role in the concept of what he saw as a simple and fair income tax (Berlin draft of the FDP 2003) . He is honorary chairman of the Association for Liberal SME Policy and was President of the Thomas Dehler Foundation until 2010. For many years he has been one of the two auditors of the FDP federal party. From 1997 to 2016 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. Until 2016, Rind was a member of the finance committee of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom .
