Hermann Roock

Hermann Roock (* 1939 ) is a German canoe athlete.

Life

Hermann Roock was a member of the Harburger Kanusport Harburg e. V. , where he has been canoeing (two-man Canadians) since it was founded in 1953 and won numerous titles and eight German championships with his partner Günter Brümmer .

Because of his sporting success, Roock became a member of the German national canoe team. At the World Championships in 1959, he reached 12th place. In 1963 he finished second with Brümmer in the team competition and won a silver medal. At the World Championships in 1965 he won a bronze medal, at the World Championships in 1967 he won 1st place.

In 1977 he won his second gold medal in the two-man slalom with Norbert Schmidt . He was awarded the silver bay leaf for his athletic achievements.
